¡ô Why is there such an exhibition?
¡¡The Chinese Spring Festival is a time for eating ¨Ceating lots. So, just as people in the West do at Christmas time, so too do Chinese people spend up large on food during Spring Festival. Fish is one of the staples of Spring Festival cuisine. It is estimated that during the Spring Festival, the price for seafood is 2-3 times higher than usual, while quantities consumed and varieties tastes are 3-4 more than other times of the year.
Yet, even with more money in their pockets and greater desire for higher quality seafood, Chinese people and seafood dealers still find it difficult to procure what they like best.. So, in order to address the problem, North Fishery Co., Ltd. has built up an aquatic products exhibition center at Shidao port, the largest fishing port in Shandong province, which is in turn the largest aquatic products production and consumption area in China. The center fuctions as a platform for fish buyers and sellers to meet every year during the Spring Festival. However, in the long term North Fishery is determined to fundamentally change the way aquatic products are traded in China by implementing the Dutch auction system for aquatic products at Shidao port. To this end an auction hall has already been established. Due to the strong support from the local government, 2007 China Shidao Spring Festival Aquatic Products Sourcing Convention and Exhibition welcomes foreign exhibitors to attend the show. Exhibitor fees are very competitive. For only US$800 / one international booth (US$55 per additional square meters), exhibitors can enjoy free accommodation for two nights for two people and free travel within Shidao and Weihai paid for by North Fishery Exhibition Center. In addition, the temporary storage of exhibition goods/materials/equipments until Dec.1st (when the exhibition starts) will also be free of charge. North Fishery would like to welcome exhibitors from other exhibitions held in China to come to this show. We can and will arrange everything you need for your exhibition in advance.
